Sustainability at Ideal Design

ISO 14001 certified manufacturing, recyclable steel, a clean burning coating plant and flat pack engineering that cuts freight volume by up to 70%. Sustainability here is process design, not a brochure page.

§ 01 · The approach

How is a metal display or cabinet sustainable?

It is sustainable when the material can be recycled, the coating process runs clean, and the freight does not ship air across an ocean. We engineer all three into the product rather than offsetting them afterwards, and we document the numbers so brand CSR teams can publish them.

Steel is the starting advantage: our structures are recyclable material throughout, and platform designs extend service life because a brand refresh swaps skins instead of scrapping fixtures. A display that serves three campaigns has a third of the footprint per campaign.

The system is certified to ISO 14001, sits alongside our ISO 9001 quality and ISO 45001 safety certifications, and has been documented in sustainability reports prepared with global cosmetics brands.

§ 02 · The coating plant

A powder plant that burns clean.

Our powder coating plant runs a gas catalytic cure with a green N20 prewash. Measured emissions: 0% CO, 0% NO₂, 0% SO₂ and 0% particulates. Pretreatment uses RO and DI purified rinses, and the coating it produces passes 1,000+ hours of salt spray testing, so products stay in service longer.

§ 03 · Freight

Flat pack is a climate decision.

An assembled fixture is mostly air, and air shipped across an ocean is fuel burned for nothing. Our flat pack engineering collapses the same unit to a fraction of its built volume, saving up to 70% of freight volume, which means fewer containers, fewer trucks and less transit damage per rollout.

The drawing shows the same unit assembled and crated: 1.00 CBM against 0.30 CBM. Multiply that across a multi market program and flat pack becomes the single largest environmental lever we control. See how it plays out on the popstand line and in the cosmetics gondola program.

§ 04 · What buyers ask

Can you document sustainability for our CSR reporting?

Yes, and we have done it at global brand level. We prepare materials breakdowns, recyclability statements, coating emissions data and freight volume comparisons per program, in formats CSR teams can lift into their own reporting.

If your procurement process scores suppliers on environmental management, our ISO 14001 certification, clean cure coating data and flat pack freight numbers are all auditable on a plant visit. Ask for the sustainability pack when you request a quote.
